Rajasthan Royals have played 29 matches against the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League, including the erstwhile Delhi Daredevils before IPL 2019.

In the RR vs DC head-to-head record, the Royals have won 15 matches while the Capitals have won 14.

The two teams first met in the inaugural edition of IPL in 2008, with the Capitals winning the match by nine wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on April 19.

The Royals’ first win against the Capitals came in their second meeting the same year at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 11. Shane Watson was the all-round performer with a 40-ball 74 to back up his 2/21 with the ball, helping the Royals clinch a narrow three-wicket win over the Capitals.

Rajasthan Royals’ nine-wicket win at the SMS Stadium in Jaipur in 2013 is their biggest win against the Capitals. Ajinkya Rahane with his unbeaten 63 was the Player of the Match.

The Royals upstaged the Capitals by 105 runs in the first semi-final of IPL 2008 to score their biggest win in terms of runs. Shane Watson once again made his presence felt with the bat and ball scoring a quickfire 52 and picking three wickets.

The Royals chalked up their highest score of 222/2 against the Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in 2022. Opener Jos Buttler was adjudged Player of the Match for his 116, as his team won by 15 runs. Prasidh Krishna picked up 3/22 in four overs.

In their seven meetings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the Royals have come out on top five times including a 12-run win in their last match at Jaipur in IPL 2024, and the Capitals have won twice.

Jos Buttler’s 116 off 65 balls at the Wankhede Stadium in 2022 remains the best individual effort by a Rajasthan Royals batter against the Delhi Capitals. Whereas, Shane Watson’s 3/10 in their knock-out win against the DC in 2008 is the best bowling display.
