Royals quick Kuldeep Sen has been included in India’s ODI squad for the New Zealand series starting later this month, the BCCI announced on Tuesday.
2022 is turning out to be the year for this pacer from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, who made his IPL debut with Rajasthan Royals this season. Following a successful maiden stint with Royals that saw him finish with 8 wickets, Kuldeep went on to play for his state team in the Ranji Trophy final against Mumbai, where his team lifted the trophy to become champions for the first time. The youngster then featured for Rest of India in the Irani Cup against Saurashtra, where his three-wicket haul helped ROI clinch an 8-wicket win for the title. He was also part of India’s net bowler contingent at the Asia Cup this year in the UAE.
Kuldeep’s first tryst with the Royals was at the Royals’ High-performance training centre in Nagpur, where was called up for the pre-IPL trials after skipper Sanju Samson spotted him in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy last year.

Captain Sanju and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who are part of the ODI squad alongside Kuldeep, will also feature in the T20Is against the Kiwis. The three-match T20I series will kick start on November 18, followed by the one-dayers on November 25.
Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin, who was part of the Indian team at the T20 World Cup in Australia, has been included in the Test squad for the Bangladesh series in December.
