The Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council has set November 30 as the last day for players to register their names in the upcoming IPL auction, according to a report in Cricbuzz.

The development comes just a few days after the much-anticipated retentions, wherein all 10 franchises announced their respective retained squads alongside the released players. Those players interested in getting themselves registered will have to submit their names along with the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective cricket boards latest by Thursday, November 30.

Following the retentions and releases, there are 77 available slots to be filled across all franchises, with a maximum limit of 30 overseas players. As per the report, approximately 700 players are expected to register for the event ahead of IPL 2024. It remains to be seen how many players end up featuring in the shortlist that will be prepared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ahead of the auction.

As per multiple reports, the IPL 2024 auction is set to be held on December 19 (Sunday) in Dubai. However, the official announcement is yet to happen.
