Lining up against Archer and England will be veteran Dasun Shanaka. The Sri Lankan arrives in form too, having blasted 121 off 43 balls in a recent Caribbean T20 league match - the fastest hundred in that competition's history.
The all-rounder is also four away from completing 50 T20I wickets.
England are currently the world No. 2 side in ICC T20I Rankings while the Sri Lanka cricket team is placed ninth.

England hold a heavy advantage over Sri Lanka in T20Is, having come out on top in 14 of the 18 matches between the two sides.
The hosts, in fact, are on a 12-match winning streak against the Island Nation, with Sri Lanka’s last win in the fixture dating back to 2014.
England and Sri Lanka have already met four times this year. The Lankans lost a bilateral series 3-0 at home before being outplayed in a Super Eight match at the T20 World Cup 2026.
