Dhruv Jurel scored his maiden Test century for the Indian cricket team during Day 2 of the first match of the IND vs WI Test 2025 series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday.
The 24-year-old wicketkeeper batter scored 125 off 210 balls, smashing 15 fours and three sixes during his knock. His innings helped put India in a commanding position of 448/5 at stumps.

Walking into the middle with the score on 188/3 following the dismissal of Shubman Gill, Jurel took his time to get his eye in before proceeding to play a fluent innings
He struck his first four off the last ball before lunch and never looked back. Jurel brought up his fifty with another boundary and then celebrated in trademark fashion by saluting the dressing room.
“The celebration at fifty was for my father and the celebration after the hundred was for the army,” Jurel said after stumps. “I always have my respect for them for what they do on the battlefield.”
“It’s about the privilege, a lot of people remain with the squad. Even if I am not playing I keep working hard so that I can deliver when there is an opportunity. It comes with discipline, and I keep myself motivated,” he added.
After moving into the 90s with a four, Jurel went on to score his maiden Test ton for India in style with another boundary.

Jurel, who represents Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, looked to up the ante after reaching his century, striking three fours and a six before being dismissed by Khary Pierre.
His stunning knock that also saw him stitch together a 206-run stand for the fifth wicket with Ravindra Jadeja propelled India to 424/5 at the time of his departure.
Jurel’s first Test hundred adds to a growing string of fine innings that he has produced this year.
Earlier this summer, Jurel piled up 227 runs at an average of 75.66, hitting three half-centuries in four innings during the India A team’s tour of England.
He also scored a century against Australia A in a multi-day match at home last month and made 56 while captaining the team to victory in the second game of the series.
