Dhruv Jurel continued his impressive run in red-ball cricket as he smashed his sixth first-class century during the first match of the SL A vs IND A Test series 2026 at the Galle International Stadium on Friday.

The 25-year-old Dhruv Jurel, who plays for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, scored 141 from 215 balls to help India A declare on 452/6 after Sai Sudharsan's century had helped the visitors finish Day 1 on 333/4.

Jurel, captain of the India A cricket team, resumed Day 2 on 68 and reached three figures shortly after lunch, getting to the milestone in 181 deliveries.

He remained unbeaten on 141, which featured 13 boundaries and a six, before declaring the innings.

In first-class cricket, Dhruv Jurel has scored 2471 runs in 35 games at an average of 56.15. His highest score of 249 came in 2022 against Nagaland in the Ranji Trophy.

Coming in at No. 5, with his team at 181/3, Dhruv Jurel forged a 136-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Shaik Rasheed, who scored 63. He then teamed up with Harsh Dubey to add another 86 runs for the sixth wicket.

Dhruv batted patiently on the opening day, scoring 68 off 138 balls. On the second day, he upped the tempo, smashing his remaining 73 runs in just 77 deliveries, striking at 94.80.

Jurel has enjoyed an outstanding run for India A over the past year. He struck a match-winning 56 in a successful chase of 412 against Australia A in September and followed it up with two centuries against South Africa A in November.

The 25-year-old has also represented India in 10 Test matches, scoring 478 runs, including his maiden international century against the West Indies last October.

Earlier this year, Jurel enjoyed his most productive Indian Premier League campaign with Rajasthan Royals, amassing 515 runs in 16 matches. His contributions played a key role in helping the Royals reach the IPL 2026 playoffs.
