Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added another record to his collection as he hit the most sixes by an Indian in an IPL innings during his breathtaking 103 off 37 balls for the Rajasthan Royals against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Jaipur on Saturday.

The teenager set the tone early at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, launching five sixes off his first six deliveries. His stunning knock featured 12 maximums and five fours.

With 12 sixes, Sooryavanshi eclipsed the previous record of 11, first set by Murali Vijay in 2010 - a mark he himself had matched against Gujarat Titans in 2025.

Sanju Samson’s 10 sixes for RR against RCB in 2018, along with similar efforts from Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, follow on the list.

While Sooryavanshi now leads the Indian chart, his effort also places him third on the overall list of most sixes in an IPL innings.

The record remains with Chris Gayle, whose iconic 175 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Pune Warriors in 2013 featured 17 sixes.

Brendon McCullum’s 158* in the inaugural IPL match in 2008 included 13 sixes.
