Fast bowler Jofra Archer has been named in England’s ODI squad for the upcoming three-match home series against the West Indies, scheduled from May 29 to June 3.
Archer, who made his ODI debut in 2019 and played a pivotal role in England’s World Cup-winning campaign that year, returns to the 50-over set-up after featuring in the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year. The 30-year-old has picked up 54 wickets from 31 ODIs at a strike rate of 26.31.
For the Rajasthan Royals, Archer has played 47 matches since 2018, picking up 57 wickets at an average of below 25 and an economy of 7.71.
In IPL 2025, Archer has claimed 11 wickets in 12 matches for the Rajasthan Royals so far. He is the joint-highest wicket-taker for the Royals alongside spinner Maheesh Theekshana this season.
The England cricket squad will be led by Harry Brook. The series opener on May 29 will be played at Edgbaston while Cardiff will host the second ODI on June 1. The final match will be played at The Oval on June 3.
The ODI series will be followed by a three-match T20I series, beginning June 6. Archer has not been named in the T20I squad.
West Indies, captained by Shai Hope, will arrive in England following their ODI series against Ireland, which begins May 21.
