Dhruv Jurel continued his brilliant run with the bat in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 season as he slammed an unbeaten 160 for Uttar Pradesh against Baroda in their third round match at Rajkot on Monday.
Not only was it Jurel’s maiden century in List A cricket, but also his third straight fifty-plus score in the tournament.
The 24-year-old slammed 80 against Hyderabad in UP’s opening match - his previous highest score in the format - and had followed up with a 67 against Chandigarh in his last outing.
Coming in at No. 3 for UP after Baroda elected to field first on Monday, Jurel picked apart the Baroda bowling attack and completed his milestone century in just 78 balls before going on to finish with an unbeaten 160, scored at a strike rate of 158.41.
His knock, featuring 15 boundaries and eight maximums, helped UP post an imposing total of 369/7 in the match. Jurel took a particular liking to Baroda pacer Rasikh Salam, taking him for 55 runs in just 14 deliveries.

Jurel was one of Rajasthan Royals’ standout batters in the Indian Premier League last season as he finished as the team’s third-highest run getter in the campaign with 333 runs in 14 matches. Only Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag managed more.
The wicket-keeper batter has been retained by the IPL 2026 season by the Royals and will head into the new season with a fantastic season behind him.
Barring his exploits in the VHT, Jurel also scored his maiden Test century for India earlier this year against the West Indies. He also showcased brilliant form in first-class cricket throughout the year, with several impressive outings for India A.
Jurel isn’t the only Rajasthan Royals player who has been enjoying a purple patch in the VHT this season. New recruit Ravi Singh has also been in sensational touch for Railways.
A keeper-batter like Jurel, Ravi smashed his maiden List A hundred with an unbeaten 109 against Haryana on the opening day of the 2025-26 VHT season and followed it up with a 76 against Andhra Pradesh in the second match.
On Monday, he slammed a 46-ball 88 against the Services.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed a record-breaking 190 off 84 balls for Bihar against Arunachal Pradesh on the opening day to become the youngest List A centurion. He missed the second game and was dismissed for 31 despite getting off to a good start against Meghalaya on Monday.
