We have had another exciting week of cricket in which we witnessed some breath-taking cricketing action. Two crucial T20 series concluded recently. India triumphed over hosts England in a three-match series, winning it 2-1. On the other hand, down in Zimbabwe, Pakistan got the better of a spirited Australian team in the final at Harare to be crowned the champions of the tri-series which also included hosts Zimbabwe. Both these series saw some exciting action as well as some sublime performances from our very own Rajasthan Royals team. This augurs well for the team and the supporters as we want our stars to be constantly shining.

The following are some of the top news from around the world about our favourite royals:

Darcy not Short on Runs

Australia may have come second best in the final against a strong Pakistan team in the tri-series at Zimbabwe but it Darcy Short’s exploits with the bat throughout the series should give a lot of hope to the Australian cricket supporters as well as the Rajasthan Royals fan. This series saw him score 165 runs in 4 matches, at a strike rate of 115. He was instrumental in giving the Australian side solid starts at the start of the innings. This helped the team post good scores on the board as he laid a solid foundation for the middle order to come out all guns blazing. An average of above 40 in a t20 series shows how much he has evolved as he exhibited power and perseverance in different situations.

Darcy saved the best for the last as he unleashed one spectacular shot after another in the finale against a high profile bowling line-up which was spearheaded by tearaway fast bowler Mohammad Amir. He peppered the boundary on a regular basis in his innings of 76 of just 53 balls. He hit four sixes and seven boundaries in his innings as ended up with a strike rate of 143.40. When Darcy Short and Aron Finch were batting, Australia looked set for a score well in excess of 200. However, some excellent bowling and a batting collapse meant that Australia was restricted to 183, which proved to be insufficient at the end. Royals’ fans would be hoping that Short’s confidence grows from this series and he comes back strong for the next season of Indian Premier League for the Rajasthan Royals team.

Jos Buttler and His Purple Patch

Jos Buttler has been in sublime touch throughout the summer, and nothing changed in the T20 series against India. He accumulated 117 runs in the three matches at an impressive strike rate of 148.03. While in the first match of the series he took the responsibility to post a decent score for England at Manchester, in the third and final T20 too, he showed his dynamic side by scoring a quick-fire 34 to get his side to a rollicking start. It was due to his and Jason Roy’s batting that England was able to post a highly competitive score of 198 on the board. However, India’s substantial batting line-up lead by an in-form Rohit Sharma made short work of this target as they chased the score down comfortably to seal the series.

Big Ben in Back

Another good news for all the Ben Stokes and Rajasthan Royals fans this past week was the return to action of Ben Stokes. Stokes who has been absent from action for several weeks following a hamstring injury suffered during the ODI series against Australia proved his fitness in the last and final T20I against India. All the Royals fans and the cricket fans would be hoping that he stays fit and enthralls us all with his batting, bowling, and fielding like only Stokesy can. We wish to see him in action during the ODI series in England.

In the coming week, India will be locking horns with England in the ODI series, Pakistan and Zimbabwe too will fight out it in an ODI series. Whereas, Bangladesh will look to avenge their humiliating loss to Windies in the second test of the series. We will be tracking all the news related to the royal players who will be in action. Halla bol!
