Oshane Thomas was the third fast-bowler bought by Rajasthan Royals at the 2019 IPL auctions. The 21-year-old from Jamaica, bowls consistently at 150 km/h and made quite a mark in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2017 after picking up the wicket of big-hitting Chris Gayle with a peach of a delivery. Thomas continued his good form for the Jamaica Tallawahs in the CPL 2018, finishing with the most wickets for a fast bowler – 18 at 17.66 – and overall second only to leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed.

Thomas made his ODI debut against India in Guwahati in October 2018 displaying a lot of maturity and new-found control to go with the genuine speed. He clocked 147kph, 147kph, 140kph, 149kph, 147kph and 147kph in his first over – with the last ball picking up the prized wicket of Shikhar Dhawan.

Thomas has breathe new hope in the once brimming fast bowling epicentre, the Windies, that has been experiencing a serious drought in the raw pace section in recent years.
