17th March 2010 - Mumbai: Graeme Smith and Dimitri Mascarenhas, the two star players of Rajasthan Royals were injured during the game against Delhi Daredevils and are unfortunately forced out of this year’s IPL. Graeme Smith has a double fracture on his right middle finger which took place while taking a spectacular catch to dismiss Virendra Sehwag. Dimitri turned his ankle while running to make it to the crease during the same match. Shane Warne, the skipper of RR, applauded the Dimitri who came back with an injured ankle to bowl and picked up two wickets. He also wished the players speedy recovery.
Losing two key players at a crucial juncture in the tournament is very unfortunate but this also means that other players in the team get an opportunity to put their hand up and be counted in their absence.
