RR vs. CSK: Watson c Ashwin b Hilfenhaus - Was he really out?

Not sure, why this has not been talked about but was Watson really caught cleanly by Ashwin? Well, I've watched this video multiple times and I don't think so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YHx6iXmXio [See the clipping starting at 5:35 min]. Video clearly shows the ball touching the ground at two instances.

Possibly, this is why Watson looked upset in entire match, which is quite natural on his part.

Furthermore, the Tait's bowl on which Aniruddh got bold out was given No Ball wasn't really a No Ball.

Its really disheartening to see the outside things impacting the RR's innings (and hence match results) on which the team doesn't have control. We thought, it will not happen again after the Morne Morkel's wide ball declared legitimate in match vs. DD impacting the match result in RR's disfavor but

Let's continue to focus on the things on which team has control, that is hard work and sincerely hope these things won't repeat again.

As i am a huge huge huge fan of Watto , I too thought it was not out.. But if you look it firstly it is being caught and then it touched the ground.. but he take the ball in to the hand by the help of the ground..

Re: RR vs. CSK: Watson c Ashwin b Hilfenhaus - Was he really out?

There are quite a few dubious things happening in this IPL:

  • Yes, I do agree that Watson wasn't out. What shocked the hell out of me was the decision of TV umpire. Unless you are terminally blind, there is no way you could not spot the ball bumping off the ground into Ashwin's hands. And if that wasn't shocking enough, the reaction of commentators was even more ludicrous. These are the people who watch over such errors like a buzzard hawk, quite clearly, they weren't bothered that night.
  • MI vs KKR match today. What was dubious about it? Don't tell me you had no problems with KKR batting in the last 7 overs with 7 wickets in hand. KKR simply 'threw' the match. I don't give a damn what you think about it, but to me, something is utterly wrong. Period.

I will write more on this forum since I am sure more such things will happen in the coming days.

Re: RR vs. CSK: Watson c Ashwin b Hilfenhaus - Was he really out?

ya same here i m feeling bad, now at this stage RR wanted to win all 3 matches and today if they win with big big margin than it will be fine, on same hand mumbai and chennai should loose their all matches , DD, KKR, RCB, RR go to play offs, but i cant understand what is going on, are all matches been fixed, now whole last week, i noticed that all matches of away were won, those home teams didnt won any home matches, can check all matches of last week, isnt that undigestable,

there is sure fixing going on in IPL,

7th may DD lost in delhi

8th may PWI llost in pune, , DC lost in hydrabad

9th may MI lost in mumbai,

10th may DC lost in hydrabad, RR lost in jaipur

11th may PWI lost in pune

12th may KKR lost in kolkata,

only one match home team won, CSK yesterday won against delhi in chennai, what a shame on those setting, why whole indian public is not tocing all this,

this all same happens as one stong team and one weak team playing than also the ir both run rate comparission in between overs is same, like 14 over first team score around 100 or so, second batting also in same posiotion, as one of the team should have finished the game as much as earliar, but nothing , and 120 scores are also been taken to last balls, shame on IPL,

why isnt ACB going into all this matters

Re: RR vs. CSK: Watson c Ashwin b Hilfenhaus - Was he really out?

Those of you who saw how Yusuf Pathan and Kallis played Pollard, Ashwin and D.Smith in the final overs must have noticed the following:

  1. Kallis career spans one and a half decades. Doesn't he have enough cricket acumen that playing Malinga while staying back in the crease won't ever help? Malinga bowled 3 overs, and every delivery he bowled was exactly similar. Give me a break!
  2. Pathan 'not even once' charged down the track to take on Pollard, Smith or Ashwin. Kallis instead of using power was seen playing foolish scoops.

All I am saying that there could be an arrangement between some teams to favor each other. Now, that's not a part of organized betting syndicate, just normal favors between a few wealthy people.
